Vox: Obamacare’s individual mandate in two minutes from Bran Dougherty-Johnson on Vimeo.

Now that the Paul Ryan and GOP-majority Congress has successfully passed a bill to repeal Obamacare that actually reached President Obama’s desk to earn a veto, public attention turns to a final year in which the PPACA, aka Obamacare, author stands watch over his signature legislation.

Nearly $5M in Medicare Part D Penalties

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Medicare Part D, also called the Medicare prescription drug benefit, is a United States federal-government program to subsidize the costs of prescription drugs and prescription drug insurance premiums for Medicare beneficiaries. It was enacted as part of the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 (which also made changes to the public Part C Medicare health plan program) and went into effect on January 1, 2006. | MORE |  + See the ‘social current see’ below from a trusted source.

Obamacare touts 6 million now enrolled

Remember just a short time ago when the PPACA, aka Obamacare, operatives were touting a goal of bringing affordable health insurance to some 30 million people who were uninsured at the time?  Stories, clips, news, and ‘social current see’ on the topic now tout that enrollment has reached 6 million this year, about 1/5th of the former goal.  Is there a reason for the undercount and under performance?

No fooling: PPACA could still fail

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly called the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or, colloquially, ObamaCare, is a United States federal statute signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Together with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act amendment, it represents the most significant regulatory overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965. Under the act, hospitals and primary physicians would transform their practices financially, technologically and clinically to drive better health outcomes, lower costs and improve their methods of distribution and accessibility.  Perhaps the most troubling aspect of the administration of this super bureaucracy is found the state cooperatives.

Court clears way for Obamacare roil

Advocates inside and outside of Congress that opposed Obamacare since inception of the legislation have been in favor of marketplace incentives to spark health insurance enrollment. Now that the Supreme Court has made a so-called final ruling on the national status of PPACA, the marketplace conditions and reactions to the law may become the final judge of whether the highly-subsidized plan will pass or fail.

Take care, after all it is Obamacare

Few pieces of legislation have obtained the level of scrutiny earned by Obamacare. On the brink of yet a second major ruling by the SCOTUS, the PPACA continues to stream in the ‘social current see’ of the national populace.  While none can predict the events of the future, the history comments past and present makes for engaging discussion, whatever your political view.

Info tech high with Obamacare rewards

Within America’s massive health care sector lies an extensive matrix of sub-industries and economic engines that include information technology (IT). If fact, you may not find a force more important for the management of healthcare in America than IT.

Health care in the United States is provided by many distinct organizations and within those organizations, many distinct disciplines like information technology. Health care facilities are largely owned and operated by private sector businesses. 58% of US community hospitals are non-profit, 21% are government owned, and 21% are for-profit. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States spent more on health care per capita ($8,608), and more on health care as percentage of its GDP (17.2%), than any other nation in 2011.
