Vox: Obamacare’s individual mandate in two minutes from Bran Dougherty-Johnson on Vimeo.

Now that the Paul Ryan and GOP-majority Congress has successfully passed a bill to repeal Obamacare that actually reached President Obama’s desk to earn a veto, public attention turns to a final year in which the PPACA, aka Obamacare, author stands watch over his signature legislation.

Obamacare survives another year

DEMAConnect in association with ALTACITIES : The STORIFY cover photo for this archive in ‘social current see’ catches President Obama broadly smiling.  Perhaps he is remembering his just-completed, extended Hawaiian holiday vacation, or the fact that his signature law lives to see another year. Whatever the cause of the grin, the President probably hasn’t been reading the bulk of the tweets and comments that follow.

Lighter wallets for many due to PPACA

Until now, the fines for not signing up for Obamacare (aka the PPACA) have been relatively harmless, but that is all about to change as noted in the following clips, news, ‘social current see’ and archive on topic.

Obamacare touts 6 million now enrolled

Remember just a short time ago when the PPACA, aka Obamacare, operatives were touting a goal of bringing affordable health insurance to some 30 million people who were uninsured at the time?  Stories, clips, news, and ‘social current see’ on the topic now tout that enrollment has reached 6 million this year, about 1/5th of the former goal.  Is there a reason for the undercount and under performance?

Obamacare opposition flags still flying

The official name for “Obamacare” is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), or Affordable Care Act (ACA) for short. The ACA was signed into law to reform the health care industry by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010 and upheld by the Supreme Court on June 28, 2012.  Other than drastically changing the marketplace for health insurance for the uninsured, the law has been most notable in the headlines and efforts made by those who oppose this legislation constantly since President Obama first proposed the act.

Obamacare may need PR agent

Imagine the army of publicists and promotional agents who have been on the Federal payroll as staff or “outside” consultants to help spin the story about Obamacare (the PPACA) since inception in March 2010?  No, really, we don’t have to imagine because this is reality.  No matter what the government has managed to tell about Obamacare, it seems that the work press and the extended network of citizen journalists continue to uncover a different story.

No fooling: PPACA could still fail

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly called the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or, colloquially, ObamaCare, is a United States federal statute signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Together with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act amendment, it represents the most significant regulatory overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965. Under the act, hospitals and primary physicians would transform their practices financially, technologically and clinically to drive better health outcomes, lower costs and improve their methods of distribution and accessibility.  Perhaps the most troubling aspect of the administration of this super bureaucracy is found the state cooperatives.
