Most people, particularly seniors, carry a variety of important documents in their wallets and purses. The stash of valuables usually includes credit cards, identification (including a driver’s license), but also auto insurance ID and, of course, health insurance verification (including a Medicare card). As we have known all along, the Medicare card number is, in fact, the holder’s Social Security number, so carrying the Medicare card is a security risk.
